Photos By: Paul Widmayer and Steve Nuse Stations 52, 53 (Fame) and 55 ambulance (GFAC) were dispatched to the Meineke Car Center on the 200 blk. of E. Gay Street in West Chester a reported heater fire. Assistant 53 (McDonald) arrived first and reported a working fire in the building. Assistant 52 (Cotter) arrived and assumed "Gay street command". Crews from Ladder 53 arrived and began ventilating the roof of the building as Engine 52-2's crew extinguished the fire from the interior of the building. Crews from Station 51 provided Rapid Intervention as well as assisted with overhaul of the building. Crews cleared the scene about 2 hours later. fire. | | | - PennSTAR Landing in West Goshen

Good Fellowship Ambulance and Medic 91 were dispatched to a residence in West Goshen in response to a fall from elevation. Responding units were advised that the patient had fallen off of a roof and was now unconscious. PennSTAR II was put on standby by Medic 91. Engine 52-1 responded shortly after and established a landing zone in a nearby field. Crews arrived on scene and after assessing the patient determined that he would by transported to a trauma center by helicopter. Crew assisted EMS with patient lifting and moving at the landing zone. The patient was flown to a trauma center in Philadelphia. Engine 52-1 cleared the scene shortly after. was now unconscious. PennSTAR II was put on standby by Medic 91. PennSTAR II was landed in the back parking lot of Station 52 today to transport an assault victim to a trauma center. Station 52 was alerted to establish an LZ. Engine 52-1 and Squad 52 responded. PennSTAR II landed safely and crews assisted with loading the patient into the helicopter. PennSTAR II transported to patient to a trauma center in Philadelphia and Station 52 units cleared shortly after. Late Monday night Air/Light 52 was alerted to assist Station 39 (West Crews working to extinguish the multi-alarm fire Bradford) with a working house fire in the 700 block of Shagbark Drive in West Bradford Township. Earlier in the evening Crews from West Bradford and Po-Mar-Lin Fire companies as well as Good Fellowship Ambulance were alerted for a house fire at the location. Crews arrived to find a large home with fire through the roof. Additional crews from Longwood, First West Chester, Fame and Modena Fire Companies were brought in to assist with extinguishment and overhaul of the house. Air 52 arrived and filled air bottles for the companies working as well as assisted with overhaul of the structure. Air 52 returned several house later Bradford Township. Earlier in the evening Crews from West Bradford and Po-Mar-Lin Fire companies as well as Good Fellowship Ambulance were alerted for a house fire at the location. Crews arrived to find a large home with fire through the roof. Additional crews from Longwood, First West Chester, Fame and Modena Fire Companies were brought in to assist with extinguishment and overhaul of the house. Early in the morning Stations 51 (First West Chester), Station 53 (Fame) and Station 55 ambulance (Good Fellowship) were dispatched to the area of N. Wayne Street and W. Chestnut Street for a reported building fire. Assistant 53 Street for a reported building fire. Assistant 53 (McDonald) and Assistant 52 (Cotter) responded and were advised that 911 callers were reporting fire and smoke visible from the rear of the building. West Chester Police arrived on scene first and confirmed a working fire in the apartment building. The “Working Fire Dispatch” was put out brining in Station 52 (Good Will) for Rapid Intervention, Medic 91 and 1 engine from Station 39 (West Bradford). Assistant 53 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire in the rear of the building. WCFD crews safely extinguished, ventilated and overhauled the structure. The fire was brought under control about a half hour later. One civilian and one firefighter were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Units cleared the scene around 0800. building fire. This afternoon, Stations 52 was alerted to establish an LZ for SkyCare 1 in the 1300 block of Phoenixville Pike. A patient from an automobile accident near the LZ was being flown to a Trauma Center. Engine 52-1 responded quickly with a crew of 6 led by Lieutenant 52A (Good). Engine 52-1 arrived on scene and met Ambulance 55-2 and Medic 91-4. SkyCare 1 landed safely and Engine 52-1's crew assisted the flight crew with loading the patient into the helicopter. Engine 52-1 cleared shortly after to handle another alarm. This afternoon, Stations 52, 53, and 55 ambulance were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Union Street for a Building Fire. A child’s birthday party was being held at Good Will, the festivities were put on hold when neighbors of the Good Will Fire Company alerted firefighters and police officers that were present to a house fire next door to the firehouse. West Chester Police ran over and found the housing unit to have heavy smoke showing and confirmed a working fire. Engine 52-2 responded on the initial dispatch with a crew of 4 lead by Captain Haring. Engine 52-2’s crew immediately stretched a hose line to the second floor. The crew found the fire in a utility room, as well as the floors and walls of the second floor. Crews from Engine 52-1 vented during the fire attack with assistance from Ladder 53’s crew. The fire was put under control shortly after. Crews assisted with extensive overhaul of the fire building.
